The Ealdorman - Winter Night Ultra

Challenge description
The Ealdorman is a frozen 52 mile Winter Night race, run along Byrhtnoth's Last Visit trail from Great Chesterton in Cambridge to the impressive Byrhtnoth statue at the coast in Maldon Essex.
Ealdorman Byrhtnoth was a Saxon hero that died leading his warriors against Viking invaders in the battle of Maldon in 991. The 6ft warrior marched from Cambridgeshire towards the East Saxon Kingdom known now as Essex. You will follow in Ealdormans footsteps as you journey across the unforgiving mid winter terrain into darkness, leading your body into battle like the warriors of old.
Cold, dark and sleep deprived you will be set for a long hard night....
This is a 75% trail, passing through Saffron Waldon, Thaxted, Great Dunmow, Howe Street and Chelmsford.
